Product Design Engineer
Hotstart designs, manufactures, and delivers thermal management solutions to customers in a variety of industrial equipment markets. We have an open position for a Product Design Engineer to join our Product Design Control team in Spokane, Washington. We are looking for a talented and motivated candidate to help us manage design, production, and materials activities that improve our portfolio of available products.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Initiate improvement activities that optimize product value, performance, and reliability
- Lead engineering change management projects and processes
- Active participation in new product development activities
- Manage product design documentation and business system data
- Support sales staff and customers on product application, testing, performance optimization, and troubleshooting activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, materials, quality assurance, and IT to implement product and process improvement
- Occasional travel to visit customer facilities, vendors, and field-testing sites (domestic and international)
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Self-starter motivated to develop deep product expertise and play an active role in improvement activities
- Excellent communicator and experience working in cross-functional teams
- Desire to learn and utilize new technology to solve complex technical problems
- Willingness to participate in hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and prototype builds
- Outstanding computer skills and previous experience with SolidWorks design software
- Previous design experience with industrial equipment and machinery
- BS/MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 2 or more years of professional experience in product design and development
