Hotstart, Inc. has an opening for a Cyber Security Administrator in our IT Department based in the Spokane, Washington corporate headquarters. The Cyber Security Administrator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and security of Hotstart's network and systems. The ideal candidate will be a motivated IT professional who is excited to be a part of highly collaborative team, hungry to immerse themselves in the ever-changing world of technology, willing to share and teach new ideas as well as learn and have old ideas challenged, has excellent customer service skills, troubleshooting/problem solving skills, and a desire to automate boring and repetitive tasks. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • System Security - implement security best practices for both Windows and Linux systems within our environment. 
  • Research and Standards - stay up to date with information security standards and emerging threats to proactively implement security best practices. 
  • Security System Upgrades - manage and execute security system upgrades to keep our defenses current and effective. 
  • Policy Development - develop and manage security policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, federal, and GDPR regulations. 
  • Technical Implementation - assist in the technical implementation of security initiatives to protect our infrastructure and data. 
  • Project Proposals - participate in the development of project proposals with a focus on cost/benefit analysis to support informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or 2+ years equivalent work experience. 
  • Possess one or more certifications in information security, networking, and systems administration (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSA/MCSE). 
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Java or C# is highly desired, as it can be valuable in understanding and addressing security vulnerabilities.
