Effective January 1, 2016, HOTSTART will discontinue the KBC battery charger product line. This discontinuation affects all battery chargers intended for locomotive and heavy equipment applications.

HOTSTART will accept and fulfill all orders for battery chargers up to this date. Replacement parts, service parts and kits intended for use with battery chargers will remain available for purchase beyond January 1, 2016.

HOTSTART will continue to support all battery charger products and related components through the duration of the warranty period. For assistance with your battery charger, including warranty inquiries, please contact HOTSTART Customer Service directly at 509.536.8660.

Recommendations & Instructions

For customers requiring a battery charging system designed for maintaining a DC voltage on locomotives and heavy equipment applications:

HOTSTART will continue to offer and develop electric powered layover heating systems designed to keep the prime mover above 100 °F. The HOTSTART APU, which operates independently of other locomotive systems, is also available and features battery charging capability. The KBC model battery charger will no longer be offered. Customers seeking stand-alone battery charging systems or similar products may wish to source these products through an alternate supplier.
