HOTSTART Offers New UL Recognized Thermal Battery Wrap

Spokane, Wash. – HOTSTART, an international engine heating technology company, recently added a UL Recognized Thermal Battery Wrap to its line of products. The battery wrap is designed to heat batteries regardless of ambient temperature to maintain optimum cold cranking amps. The battery wrap is UL Recognized and is ideal for generator sets, heavy duty equipment, trucks and other equipment relying on battery power for their operation.

“Feedback from our customers drove our redesign project for the battery wrap,” said Yasmeen Perez, Product Design Engineer of HOTSTART. “Their need for shorter lead times and a UL Recognized solution was our starting point for the update. As we worked through the project, we identified a way to improve the temperature control performance by relocating the thermostat. The new thermostat position also allows for easier installation of the heater.”

The overlap design of the wrap maximizes heat to the battery by keeping the monitoring thermostat in contact with the battery. Using a thermostat to maintain the battery heat eliminates battery damage caused by overheating and acid spill. The battery wrap is easy to install and comes with an adjustable strap to secure the wrap to the battery.
