Hotstart’s OLA is the largest capacity IECEx oil heating system designed for hazardous locations.

The OLA model (IECEx certified) is HOTSTART’s largest capacity oil heating system designed for use in hazardous location applications. Its combination of heating power options (up to 24 kW) and pump power give it the capability to handle the largest engine heating applications. Its pre-packaged, plate-mounted configuration allows the heating system to be installed on the skid for operator access and its remote automatic function and customer interface connections simplify integration into an existing control system.

To improve equipment startability and availability, the OLA continuously circulates heated oil throughout the oil sump or lubrication system, maintaining a uniform and consistent temperature to ensure oil viscosity is at optimal levels for engine or compressor protection. Continuous lubrication of the compressor frame, bearings and crossheads with heated oil minimizes wear and tear, reducing overall maintenance. The OLA delivers the required flow to achieve pressure permissives for startup, eliminating the need for a separate prelube pump, motor and controller.   

In oil and gas applications, improving equipment availability and maintaining system readiness are critical factors in reducing expenses and improving the bottom line. In cold climates, HOTSTART heating systems ensure immediate startup on demand even in freezing temperatures. In warm, humid climates, HOTSTART systems maintain equipment above the dew point, eliminating the risk of condensation forming inside the oil sump or pan.
